2024 Home Stretch Update

Hey everybody, James here with an update, hope you all (that celebrate) had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Now that the 4th book of Voidknight is wrapped up, Sohmer and I would normally be taking a break to work on the laundry list of behind-the-scenes stuff that usually goes into producing a book and audiobook after the relatively "easy" part of writing is done.

This time, however, there will be a longer wait. We're going to be taking a break from Voidknight Ascension, and I'll be taking a break from Beastborne Chronicles to focus on our upcoming new series debuting in December.

Chapters will stay up until the release of both books. Beastborne: Dunes of Midnight will be releasing on January 1st, 2025, while there is no date yet for Voidknight 4. We might wait a little longer than usual to release it, but until we do the chapters will remain.

This isn't particularly uncommon, and in no way shape or form is there any plan to long-term shelve either series. Each person creates differently, and to prevent burn out with Voidknight, Sohmer and I have chosen to create a new project that is creatively and mechanically distinct from anything we've done before.

A bonus is that we're able to take ideas and lessons learned then implement them in a way that you just can't really do in an ongoing series without doing a full rewrite or shoving them in awkwardly (which neither of us want to do).

Since I'll be taking a break from Beastborne, any time I would normally spend on Hal and the gang will instead be moved over to Jacob, Fenris, and the world of Pyresouls. I can't guarantee any specific release this early on as any new venture presents a million problems that are impossible to foresee, but I hope to at least get the third Pyresouls written next year.

The more support we get for our new series, the more time I'll have to focus on it since I can rely on the one series to keep the lights on instead of spreading myself thin across multiple ongoing series at once.
