Changes to Patreon!
Added 2020-06-22 19:45:29 +0000 UTCI wanted to touch base with everybody and let you all know a few changes that are coming next month.
This month will see the first public release of the heavily polished and edited Beastborne: Mark of the Founder ebook. It currently sits at a very hefty 273,000ish words. That’s well over 1,000 pages.
By way of comparison, the original first draft that you all have read was 234,658 words (give or take). So it’s a marked increase in length and substantial edits to improve the quality and a few areas that needed some extra polish.
On the Patreon front, there are new sales tax laws that vary by state and I’m tweaking the back-end as much as possible (without breaking any laws, obviously) to prevent this being an issue. For most of you, it shouldn’t have an impact. Some it might, but as it’s based in the state you reside there’s little I can do about that. I just wanted to make sure you all had a heads up.
Additionally, some of the tiers are going to get a reworking. This isn’t exactly an exhaustive list of the changes but it’s fairly complete:
- The current Copper Marked tier is going to be locked. No new patrons will be able to pledge to this tier. However, all current patrons will stay in this tier and enjoy its benefits, provided they remain subscribed.
- There will be a new tier that replaces Copper Marked for any newer patrons and will be solely a support tier.
- Advance chapters (Beastborne only) will start at the Iron Marked tier (no change in the amount).
- Iron Marked will also receive an ebook as they are released (limit of 1 and not retroactive).
- Silver Marked will now receive up to 2 ebooks per month as they are released (also not retroactive).
- In addition to Silver Marked tier having more chapters ahead, they will also get advanced chapters of the upcoming new works in addition to their advanced chapters for Beastborne.
- The rest of the tiers will be largely unchanged!
- Bundling more than the week’s chapters will cease (they have as of this post for this week as well).
And that’s it! If you have any questions, comments, concerns, please feel free to talk to me on discord, message me here or leave a comment below.
