Walk Cycle Draft

The walk I had in mind for Ayla is closer to the slower, more sensual version on the right (32 frames. It actually had an even more exaggerated hip swing and slightly more deliberation on each step but once I'd animated that out it became clear it wouldn't work for the needs of the game, which needs a very consistent walking speed. So I retimed it and got the 32 frame version you see here. I retimed it once more to fit the standard animation walk cycle pace, a 24 frame loop.

I'm still deciding which to use for the game, because either could work. The 24 frame cycle will probably read better in the game itself. There is a good amount of work left on tweaking the motions in either case, and adding the spear in. I wanted to make sure it feels like the spear has some weight to it and getting the arms moving naturally first will help me find how adding the spear will reduce the swing a little. After that I'll be about tightening the drawings and adding the secondary motion and follow-through, like her loincloth, hair, and breasts motion. I also need to reduce the up and down movement of her head a little to increase that delicate feminine appeal.
