Scooter Animation Test
Added 2019-12-12 21:10:52 +0000 UTCBefore going deeper down the rabbit hole of traditional animation I wanted to make sure I had the concepts down well enough to actually put a little scene together. Well... I got sort of mixed results. I did animate a little scene, yes, but putting it together taught me that I'm still pretty far away from where I want to be. And that's ok! The process taught me a mix of what TO do and what NOT to do. Part way through I almost scrapped it and started over but I need to keep moving forward. Still happy enough with it. 
The scene isn't really based on anything other than a love of vintage Vespa Scooters and enjoying Paris as a visual backdrop. I wanted something to let me try a parallax background, and I haven't drawn anything like this before so it seemed fun. At some point in the character design process I decided to keep this scene black and white, hoping it might feel reminiscent of an old Parisian post card brought to life.
