5.7x28mm, 30gr SS200, FN DFNS

Ladies and gentlemen, I can't believe we are led to believe this is what FN is passing off to us as legitimate self defense loads in 5.7. This has the same exact charge as the 40gr loads, which given the lighter 30gr bullet is causing all sorts of reliability issues in our guns. You'll get FBI spec penetration depths, but I am not sure how I feel about compressed metal core bullets and thin jackets being able to provide adequate wounding over even SS197SR. I feel The Vmax at 1,800 fps gives us much better ballistics albeit at the min end of my recommendations.  We did get IIIA penetration from the 8", but this is the same bullet Clark Custom's used to get 2,300 fps years ago in the pistol. I will try to get the Vampire Fang done next. MUCH better performance!

controlled chaos acts like the fracturing ammo RR WS uses. Those petals don’t make it past 5-6”. This is where I feel a tumbling round is going to work better.

Lehigh makes some really light .223 bullets, have you taken a look at any of those?
