Just art rambling belowβΌ
I've been working on comics for the past days, jumping between the GunsNRoses one and Heart of Stone but without being able to make satifying progress, hence why you didn't hear from me. After the euphoria of the Weltday comic I was left DRY and everything I've drawn since then felt hollow...
Idk if I'm going through some sort of painful artistic level-up challenge (at this point I hope so) or if the fucked up sleep schedule I've had for a month is finally biting my ass (much likely).
Either way, today I decided to set comics aside and do something smaller to bring faith in my art back, and this MyPhai page did make me feel a little better!
When I shared the feeling on Discord and in Chat, somebody of you pointed out that taking a break or slowing down could help and I hate to admit that it's a very reasonale point... I had an extremely busy January, in addition to the Patreon art, I drew 3x lineart illustrations, 4x portraits + server event collabs + HoS sketches - some of these I'll soon be able to show you!! Instead of slowing down, in February I pushed forward starting 2 multiple-page comics and it was definitely NOT a wise choice fghjkl
I need to switch back to the mindset of enjoying the serotonin from drawing instead of craving dopamine from finishing something. So, today I commit to going back to a healthy amount of sleep and giving more value to the creative process itself ππ

I love the poses here and Iβm always amazed by how much youβre able to produce as an artist, but everyone certainly has their limits and you definitely should rest up too! I always wonder how professional artists manage to draw so much, I feel my limit a day is like three hours and even that is a lot for me, I wish I was more productive but I often catch myself being too perfectionistic about my drawings and trying to fix tiny details that in the end are barely noticeable. I wonder how you get around it, or if youβre past this stage, how was it like for you? I just wish I finished more pieces, even a quarter of what you do, but they feel daunting when I notice mistakes and keep nibbling at them without actually doing much.π
