Companion Progress

If this were a quest mod or a new lands mod, I would offer some progress screenshots, but that's not really a thing with this mod. So I'll make this first progress update by just going over some plans and implementations. So, here's the plan for her. (This will also be my last public post about it, going forward, only you attractive backers will have access.)

Her name is Lacie Taylor, and she's a young woman from the Boomers. Unlike many of her peers, she's very interested in the outside world, but in a tourist-y kind of way. She's a bit like Follows-Chalk, but Lacie's fascination with the outside is a lot less reverent, and a lot more "innocently good-natured condescension." The plan is that she'll straddle the line between being really bubbly and eager to learn more about the world outside Nellis, and then innocently question what percentage of "savages" practice cannibalism, or gently explain that inbreeding should be avoided.

As far as personality goes, aside from what I already mentioned, she's a dork. She has a weird sense of humor, and is prone to sniggering at her own jokes. Unlike the other three companions I've made, she's not remotely cynical.

Her companion quest will essentially be giving her a guided tour of the Mojave landmarks, kind of like Michael Angelo's vanilla quest, except I'll throw combat at you during the tour, because of course I will. As you show Lacie around and explain things to her, you'll have the option to either encourage her curiosity and open-mindedness, or to try and temper her expectations with some pragmatic cynicism.

A secondary quest will let you upgrade her companion weapon by taking her to the Vault 34 armory. (I know; I despise that location too, but it just makes sense for a character from that faction.)

Her recruitment will require completing Volare! without killing the Boomers.
