Uwe Boll Returns with Untitled Crime Thriller Set to Shoot in NYC

The film, set to shoot in New York City from September 9 to October 2, 2025, is currently casting, with auditions scheduled for June 30 and callbacks on July 14.

Boll, known for his controversial films and awful video game adaptations, will serve as writer, director, and executive producer, alongside Michael Roesch and producer Daniel Sollinger.

Plot Overview:

The film centers on an unlikely duo of detectives tasked with uncovering a string of brutal murders linked to a human trafficking ring. Haunted by their own pasts, they must walk a fine line between justice and survival, in a case that some believe is safer left buried.

Key Roles Being Cast:

Evan Wilder: Lead role. A charming but chilling FBI special agent with a deadly secret — he's also a serial killer. Open to Caucasian, Hispanic, or Asian actors in their 30s to early 40s. Must have strong screen presence and notable credits.

Zoe Scarlet: Supporting lead. A quick-witted tattoo artist in her 30s, whose vibrant personality hides a rough past. Potential love interest and key emotional anchor for the film’s gruff detective. Tattooed actors and those with chess experience are a plus.

Stanley Cohen: Supporting. A fast-talking, Yiddish-spouting investigative journalist/podcast host in his 50s-60s. A bit OCD, a bit genius, and pivotal to the unfolding mystery.

Karen: Supporting. A contradictory couples counselor with boho looks and high-end tastes. Minor role in the first installment, with expanded presence in sequels.

Katie: Supporting. The grieving ex-wife of a detective, still emotionally entangled with her ex despite a new relationship. Limited to Part 2 but may return if the franchise continues.

Coroner Vicky Stone: Supporting. A no-nonsense medical examiner who holds a key secret that could either expose or bury the killer’s identity.
