The plan is still to start filming later this year or early 2025 in the UK. They have a new story set in the present day that should lead to Midnight Sons written by Micheal Green that Mahershala Ali likes. Eric Pearson did some writing on Green's script, and it's possible the new director will make some changes as well. However, they are now clear on what they want from it overall. So, despite appearances, everything is going according to plan.

so annoying to see people overreacting to this when all pre production goes like this! this is only an outlier in the sense that we found out about it years before we should have. realistically we would barely start hearing about it now had kevin not been forced to announce it years ago
