It’s not a straight-up adaptation of the book Vineland, but it’s an alternate reality film about MAGA continuing for years and years in the US, with the hippie/progressive rebels fighting the MAGA government in present day. While Vineland was about the rebel hippies fighting the Nixon administration. So, it has elements of Vineland, but reinterpreted for modern-day politics.
