Franken-perlatives!

It's graduation season, fiends! And you know what that means: It's time for Frankencast High to throw a little popularity contest so all your favorite mad scientists can try to get voted Most Likely to Succeed at Making a Monstrous Creation.

Join us as we each make our selection in the ten arbitrary categories we chose. And then weigh in here in the comment section. Did we get something way wrong? Was there an obvious category we failed to properly recognize? We'd love to hear from you...

The Murderbot Diaries - Martha Wells

Hey fiends! This week's episode is a wild, free-wheeling exploration of the entire Murderbot book series. Join Mad Scientist Anthony, Med School Girlfriend Hallie, and Murderbot Superfan Zaz as we have a spoiler-heavy discussion of the entire book series.

*NOTE: We recorded this episode before the Apple TV series debuted, so there will be no spoilers about the show, only some theorizing how the show would be handled.

Creature Commandos episode 7

Here we are, fiends. The grand finale of James Gunn's Creature Commandos. And you know James Gunn isn't going to let us go without one last incredibly painful tug at our heartstrings. But, in typical Gunn fashion, there are also some funny bits, some interesting lore, and a few surprising twists and turns. Join us as we say goodbye to the Commandos (for now), and talk a little bit about where the DCU is going from here!

Creature Commandos episodes 5 & 6

This week, we're nearing the end of the Creature Commandos and James Gunn is continuing to pull at our heartstrings, in "The Iron Pot" and "Priyatel Skelet". With these two episodes, we get Eric Frankenstein's backstory and damnation arc, and then Doctor Phosphorus's backstory and maybe the slightest hint of a possible redemption? Come hang out, we're playing Mortal Kombat with Clayface, chilling with Pokolistani sex workers, and dancing under one of Gotham City's many BEAUTIFUL skylights. View Post

Mighty Mighty Monsters - Pranks For the Memories

Happy April, fiends. We're back with the final installment of the Mighty Mighty Monsters series. We've had fun getting to know Frankie, Vlad, and Gunner, and we still have no idea the origins of this weird series we found on Tubi. Join us as we say goodbye to these specials, but don't worry, we're gonna revisit the monsters in their also mysterious and out of print graphic novel series eventually...

Creature Commandos episodes 3 & 4

Those Creature Commandos are back! And this time, they're here to make you cry! Join us for "Cheers For the Tin Man" and "Chasing Squirrels", episodes that focus on GI Robot and Weasel, and give us a lot of their tragic back stories. James Gunn is a monster and we love him for it.

Creature Commandos episodes 1 & 2

We're finally getting to it, fiends! This is the new animated series kicking off James Gunn's new era as puppet master of the DC comics extended cinematic universe. And what an auspicious start! This week, we're discussing "The Collywobbles" and "The Tourmaline Necklace", two episodes that establish this season's story arc, and which place the Bride and her relationships with Victor Frankenstein and his monstrous creation (Eric?!?) at the very center of the story. Join us as we begin our dive...

VIDEOBOOK: Frankenstein Jr. and the Menace of the Heartless Monster

This week's bonus audiobook was just full of too many incredible Hanna-Barbera drawings to just give you fiends the audio by itself. So, here are all of pictures in the book, synced up to the audio like I'm the librarian at storytime, reading a page and then showing you the pictures. Enjoy, fiends!

Frankenstein Jr. Slideshow: Coming Soon!

FYI, the Frankenstein Jr. book I read for this week's episode is FULL of hundreds of fantastic Hanna-Barbera drawings. I have scanned every one and I'm planning to make a video version of the audiobook recording with the corresponding pictures as a slideshow. Give me a few days and that will be posted here on the Patreon as well! Thanks, fiends!

Frankencast Q&A with a medical student

Hey fiends! As promised, here is a very special questions and answers chat between your friendly neighborhood mad scientist, and my girlfriend Hallie, a decidedly less mad scientist, and current medical student. Join us as we discuss the scientific realities of the Frankenstein story and exactly how close we are to really making a monster out of dead people parts!

Fuckenstein (2012) dir. Joanna Angel

Happy Valentine's Day, fiends! Well, we're here again at the X-rated parody well, and this time around we have an especially fun discussion about a well-done parody co-starring an unfortunately pretty awful guy. CW: We discuss James Deen's assault allegations at the beginning of the episode.

Upcoming Q&A - Make your voice heard!

Hey fiends, we have plans in the near future to do a Q&A with a medical student. She's dissected a human in a cadaver lab, she's studied death and disease, she's been through roughly the same amount of training Victor went through before he bailed on the whole university education thing! If you have any burning Frankenstein-related questions you would like to ask a medical professional, now's your chance! Hit us up in the replies or email us at View Post

The Munsters Today season 2 episodes 5 & 6

Sigh. We were doing so well, fiends. The Munsters Today had really impressed us as it developed over season one and we were even more excited by the first few episodes of this season. But, boy, did we hit a rough patch this week. We're talking "The Trial" and "It's A Wonderful Afterlife", one episode with the terrible premise of stoking the trendy late-80s/early-90s fear of and disdain for lawsuits of any kind (but with some fairly decent jokes), and the other episode having some of the most...

Legendary Presents Mary Shelley's Frankenstein featuring Boris Karloff

This week, we have a fun curiosity to discuss. Legendary Pictures' comic book wing recently released a pair of graphic novels, pitched as faithful adaptations of the novels Frankenstein and Dracula, but with face-casting of Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi in their respective novels. We're obviously only talking about the Frankenstein one here. Join us!

The Munsters season 2 episodes 5 & 6

Hey fiends! We're back to business as usual, and that means some classic middle of the road episodes of Munsters Classic. This week, Herman tries to train Eddie to become a track star in "Herman Munster, Coach of the Year" (and Grandpa tries to cheat with magic, as usual) and then Herman and Lily try to celebrate their 100th anniversary by accidentally having work-flirt affairs with each other? It's "The Gift of the Magi" meets "The PiƱa Colada Song" in "Happy 100th Anniversary," a classic c...

Franken-Story Time!: "Frankenstein" by Ludworst Bemonster

Happy New Year, fiends! We took last week off for the holiday, and then this week we got hit with a giant blizzard that has prevented us from getting together to record. So, instead, I thought I would do another story time video like I did on Christmas last year.

So, join me as I read the "Madeline" parody, "Frankenstein".

"Monster's Holiday" - Bobby "Boris" Pickett/Lon Chaney Jr./Buck Owens

Happy Holidays, fiends! This week we're talking about the sequel to the "Monster Mash", a holiday-themed song about monsters robbing Santa Claus. Originally recorded by Bobby "Boris" Pickett, a later covered by Lon Chaney Jr., it's a slight curiosity that's a perfect example of a classic novelty record. Oh, and we talk about a totally different song with the same title recorded by the outlaw country performer Buck Owens. Join us as we steal presents from the big guy himself. Anyone need an el...

The Halloween That Almost Wasn't (aka The Night Dracula Saved The World)

Since it's a few days after Halloween, we know that it all went off without a hitch. But have you ever wondered what would happen if Halloween got canceled? Well, apparently the world would end? idk. Anyway, join us for this Halloween special for children with a strangely solid cast of comic actors from the '70s and '80s. Ongoing Series Announcement

Hey Fiends!

We've had a great time over the last couple months taking a break from the Munsters and spending time in Turkey with the Creature mini-series. But now that we've completed that series, we're excited to dig back into the Munsters. However, we couldn't decide how we wanted to handle it. We love the classic run, and have been away from America's first monster family for a good long while, but we were also really pleasantly surprised with the quality of The Munsters Today. SO, w...
