Logline: Based on the true story. A pair of marijuana advocates try to hold their own against the FBI in a brutal five-day standoff that ends in tragedy in Michigan a few days prior to 9/11.

"A flowing blonde mane that hasn't been washed in a week. Shirtless and scrawny with a gold cross hanging from his neck. Soft kid's eyes. No expression." At 16, Rollie's a single dad to
ROBERT, and sick of living with his stepmom and stepdad, he makes arrangements with TOM CROSSLIN, a local contractor, to live in one of the houses that he's rehabbing. Rollie and Tom
forge a connection, and they end up falling for each other and becoming a couple.

"A scraggly, pot-bellied alpha-male with an endearing permanent smirk. He's in shorts, tall white socks, and a sweaty white t-shirt " He's a contractor who sometimes lets his workers stay in the houses he's rehabbing. He makes arrangements with
Rollie to do just that, and the two soon forge a connection and end up falling for each other.

Supporting Male (? - 18) White
Rollie's son. Rollie does his best to raise Robert as a 16-year-old, with Robert only occasionally seeing his mother, 24-year-old LESLIE. After Robert falls in with Tom, Tom hires a lawyer to secure full custody for Rollie, and Robert comes to live with Rollie on the farm. They have an idyllic life together as father
and son, but after Rollie and Tom are arrested, Robert's taken from Rollie and given to a foster family. Rollie demands to see him, but things go south at the farm before he's able to. Years later, Robert seems a well-adjusted young man holding a bake sale with his youth group.

Tom's friend and sometime accountant. In a suit. He's a major pot head and supporter of Tom's countercultural point of view, but he's also much more practical minded than Tom and when things start to go south, he tries to talk sense into him.

Part of Tom's crew. "A skinny woman with a lilting voice coarsened by a smoker's rasp." Amy's often present on the farm and offers her help as much as she can, especially as things go south.

"A young, scrawny man in a crew-cut." He spends time on the farm and when things come to a head with authorities, he returns. He's walking the perimeter with Tom when Tom's killed.

Mother of Rollie's son. "With long uncombed hair, in a cheap oversized jacket." She only sees Robert occasionally. Rollie ultimately wins full custody away from her thanks to a lawyer Tom hired.
