2025-01-28 21:09:54 +0000 UTCThis is a good question! I have planned some ways of working around this issue. In general, calling different sprites based on a variable in each scene isn't an issue. I've redone Paige's first weight stage sprites for this particular update because she's wearing a specific outfit which will also be reused in the next Wanda update. In general, it won't matter too much what the characters are wearing, so the script can just call whichever sprite is at the appropriate weight. Other than when specific outfits are needed, it's only in the unique special scenes where I have to consider how many possible weights the character could be at. For those scenes, I'm going to ensure that they only come up if a character is at one of two, maybe three different weight stages as a kind of reward for achieving that weight with the character at that point in the story. That way, I won't have to do twelve different versions of the same scene, but one, two or three. Paige's special scene that I am doing now can also be reused for her repeatable feeding scenes, so after this update I'll have most of the art prepared for repeatable feeding with Paige at both weight stages one and two. Also bear in mind that this is only challenge for the main three characters: Wanda, Paige and Leilani. The side characters 'wait' for the player to interact with them, and their stories only progress after gaining a certain amount of weight, so all of their scenes will only ever occur at specific weights.

Each weight gain stage requires me to create a bunch of different sprites, animations, and story to go with them. As the game progresses, I also have to account for situations where the character could be at multiple different weight stages at any one point in the plot, unlike in Chapter 1 where everyone is simply at their first weight stage. The update coming is accounting for Paige at weight 1 & 2, so all scenes have two different versions. On top of that, she is getting an updated sprite/outfit for both, which you will clearly be able to see her fill out between the two of them. I am also doing a feeding scene with a few different artistic variations and two different dialogue paths depending on if you want a submissive or dominant Paige. The upside is that these sprites can be re-used for many of Paige's future story scenes, and for her repeatable feeding scenes until her 3rd weight stage, at which point she will outgrow this outfit and require a new one. This means that further Paige updates should be a bit quicker for a little while, until she gets substantially bigger and I need to do a lot of redrawing again.
