The drive up and over the mountains on Trail Ridge Road, with stops along the way, is easy to do in a day. Second, Acadia National Park in Maine is BEAUTIFUL, and the loop drive through the park and up Cadillac Mountain is easily done. You can also take a horse-drawn carriage tour on special trails through the park.

2023-07-20 23:02:39 +0000 UTCI've been to all of these except the South Carolina one at the end. Mesa Verde in southeastern Utah is probably the place you are thinking of. The Anasazi people lived there a couple of thousand years ago, nd their dwellings are still standing. It is very very worth seeing. I also recommend seeing the badlands in South Dakota, which in addition to great scenery, has a very nice scenic drive with tons of wildlife, including bison. It is also very close to Custer National Park, which is where Mount Rushmore is and the Crazy Horse monument, which are something you really should see. You should absolutely go see mammoth Cave in Kentucky. It is incredible, with multiple different guided tours to choose from.
