#665 Let’s Erect a Tower – Snow Festival Edition
Added 2023-04-10 13:39:01 +0000 UTCPreparations for the Snow Festival are steadily progressing.
Since the main event is the snow sculptures, creating them is one of its highlights.
That’s why we’ll be checking the progress of each team’s snow sculptures.
First, Maelga’s elf team.
As a member of the woodworking team, her skills perfectly match her creation, and she has laid out a superb masterpiece.
Her subject is the god Velesares, the elves’ guardian deity.
Maelga’s creative interests have been focused on their guardian deity, and she has come to compete with her best work in this Snow Festival.
As of now, the pure white war god sculpture seems to be 80% complete.
Standing proudly, his figure is both gallant and dependable.
Next, the orcs made an imposing snow castle with a four-story tower.
I thought to myself, Orkubo was taking the lead and making something incredible again.
It can preserve continuity as Orkubo’s Castle and be the symbol of this special event.
The dwarf team, Elzariel, the graduating students, and Poel’s team are still engrossed in their work, which also inspired other farm residents to create their own snow sculptures.
Then...
Watching everyone’s creations, I felt the urge to make something myself.
My creative spirit tells me it wants to make somethinggggggg...!
But as I was about to succumb to my creative urges...
...I find myself in a bind.
What should I make?
As you know, when it comes to art-related things, I am completely powerless.
And in snow sculpture, where everything depends on your skill in forming shapes, this weakness is fatal...!
“I’m powerless when it comes to making snow sculptures...!!!”
I myself don’t have any artistic talent either.
Is it impossible for me to make a snow sculpture of Venus de Milo and earn everyone’s respect?
However...
My son Junior has become fond of playing in the snow and has started creating the 500 snow Arhats.
He’s frighteningly talented for my son.
But I’m his father.
I want to be looked up to by my son with respect!
To achieve that, I must create a snow masterpiece that surpasses his thousand-armed Kannon or the 500 Arhat sculptures.
Is there any good idea?
Anything at all...?!
...Oh, I got it.
I’ve come up with a good one.
* * *
After a few days...
My masterpiece was magnificently completed.
“Yes! I did it! This is my best work ever!”
I was cheering while Platy and Veil had blank expressions as if they had lost all emotion.
What happened to them?
They should be sharing this joyous moment with me.
“We’re shocked beyond belief...!”
“Master always tells us not to be reckless, but you’re the most reckless one out of all of us! You make us remember that whenever we forget about it!”
What are your remarks supposed to mean, Platy and Veil?
But more importantly, isn’t this amazing?
I made this entirely out of snow!
“We know. We saw the entire process.”
“Seriously, you made this with just snow, Master?! How did that even happen?!”
Behold! The imposing figure of my masterpiece snow sculpture!
I realized that the Hand of Supremacy is not particularly suited for artistic work.
So, I thought, why not utilize my skills in the direction of reproducing what already exists?
If the task is replication, the ultimate goal is to match it perfectly with the original.
By doing this, the Hand of Supremacy can fully demonstrate its supreme abilities.
So, I tried to aim for the “replication” of a snow-formed object.
I thought it’d be better to create something that would make everyone’s jaws drop, so I decided to try reproducing something by copying it on a large scale with snow.
Because big things are eye-catching!
So, I copied this using the Hand of Supremacy and made it out of snow: Tokyo Tower.
“WOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!”
Seeing everyone’s astonished faces, I just knew making this was worth it.
Tokyo Tower.
The most famous building in the world where I used to live in my world.
I don’t know how famous it is worldwide, though.
It has a total length of 333 meters.
It’s a massive structure that was once the tallest in Japan until Tokyo Skytree surpassed it!
I tried to replicate it with snow!
By the way, the scale is 1/1!
I don’t think everyone would be surprised if it weren’t big enough!
The original Tokyo Tower in my world was painted red, but this one is pure white.
After all, it’s made of snow.
One could argue that the true essence of the Snow Festival lies in the novelty of witnessing familiar sights transformed into a pristine, snowy white!
“Why did you have to make it this big, Master?!”
“I wanted to surprise everyone.”
“You did accomplish that, but there’s a limit, you know?! I think you went overboard with the size for a snow sculpture!”
But what’s made is made.
And it’s fine, the snow was firmly packed with the Hand of Supremacy.
Strong winds or earthquakes won’t be enough to break down this baby.
I firmly stabilized the snow from the ground, and as it grew taller, I used my dragon-horse, Sakamoto.
And that’s how I made this Snow Tokyo Tower!
Thanks to creating something this big, I was able to use up most of the snow that we were struggling to dispose of.
That was our original goal, anyway, so it’s like killing two birds with one stone!
“I wonder how visible this is from far away?”
“People might get confused if they suddenly see something unfamiliar in the scenery...!”
Everyone else is also in a state of confusion, but it’s allllll okay.
Rather, if it’s visible from far away, it could serve as good publicity.
“On the off chance this thing collapses, debris and other things could rain down from the sky...!”
“The people directly below will definitely be buried alive.”
Platy and Veil are so skeptical of me and my work.
But this was made with the Hand of Supremacy, so it’s alllll okay.
Now, I wonder.
Will Junior respect me for creating something this big?
“.........So cool.”
Yesssssssss!!!
Junior looks up at the towering snow Tokyo Tower with sparkling eyes full of admiration!
This is the part where the father would be overly praised in his child’s school writings!
Wouldn’t it be cool if he wrote something like, “My dad builds buildings for a living” in his essays?!
Norito doesn’t seem to fully understand it yet because of his age, but...
I have now earned my son’s respect here and now!
“You’ve gone beyond what’s necessary just to be liked by our kids...!”
“Master’s limits go haywire when Junior and Norito are involved...”
Platy and Veil shudder.
“Well, any father would make an effort to be respected by his children, wouldn’t they?”
“Yes, but again, there are limits to that... For the first time in a while, I was reminded that you’re beyond all standards, Dear...!”
But overlooking all that, we have another masterpiece that will liven up Orkubo’s Castle: Snow Festival Edition.
Stone statues made by renowned craftsmen of different races, such as elves, orcs, and dwarves.
Snow attractions prepared by Platy and the goblins.
Lastly, my carefully made snow Tokyo Tower (1/1 scale). We’re ready to entertain our visitors to their heart’s content!
The main event is about to begin.
Orkubo’s Castle: Snow Festival Edition!
