#476 Wonderful Mixing

“We’ll put this orange, all right?”

“Okay?”

“And then a banana.”

“Oh!”

“And lastly, an apple into the blender!”

Zrrrrrrrrrrrr!

The blender makes a clamorous sound and slices the contents.

Then, I pour the mixture into a cup.

“Drink up!”

“It looks appetizing this time! I love mikan, apples, and bananas!”

You don’t have to add “this time” ...

Well, I did remove all their peels, so I don’t think there will be any bitter aftertaste.

“Let’s give this baby a try!”

And so, Veil drinks the very first otherworldly mixed juice sample.

She tilts the cup and drinks it in one gulp.

“Ah! So good!!!”

Thank goodness she found it delicious.

The dwarves and elves had worked so hard together to make this blender, so it would be a shame if it flopped.

“I see. So this is the advantage of mixing things up! Mikan juice tastes good, and so does apple juice! I’m not surprised it tastes even better when you mix them both!”

“I see you’re fascinated by it. That’s good.”

Also, it’s orange, not mikan.

It’s these small details that matter the most.

“I didn’t know you could turn banana into juice! I thought there was nothing you could gain even if you mash them. This is a triumph of ingenuity!”

“Indeed.”

“Master! Could it be that we can blend other stuff in here? Grapes, pears, and melons, all blended into juice! Just imagine how exciting it would be!”

She’s completely captivated by the blender.

But if you think it can only mix fruits, that’s where you’re mistaken.

“Let’s go down the mountain to prove that point, shall we?”

“Oh! We’ll show off the blender to everyone else! Ah, wait a minute! Let me bring lots of fruit first!”

Veil gathers all the fruits that can be found in the dungeon orchard.

From now on, the full-fledged demonstration of the blender begins.

* * *

We return to the farm.

Since I rode Veil in her dragon form, the trip was quicker.

“Behold! And be afraid! This is Master’s new power, the blender!”

Veil boasting as if it were her own achievement is an everyday thing.

But it helps that she’s generously making and serving juice with the fruits she brought.

Thanks to her, I can concentrate on my new experiment.

Those who happened to be free were lured in by their curiosity and gathered around.

“Ohh! This is yummy!”

The mixed juice is a hit.

“It feels more thirst-quenching than squeezed juice! Maybe it’s because the whole fruit is crushed?”

“Mixing several fruits sounds good for the body!”

“Lord Saint! The upper part is made from the glass parts we provided, right?!”

I’m glad they like it.

“Oh, it tastes refreshing. I think this will make a good replacement for Junior once he’s weaned.”

With Platy’s seal of approval, the blender steadily gained widespread acceptance.

“Gahahaha! See that? With this, fruits have entered a new dimension of possibilities! A new world is dawning!”

Veil is starting to get a little too carried away. But she should know from experience that such moments have their traps.

“Let me show you that those aren’t the only things you can add!”

“What? Master, is that-”

I went and harvested these tomatoes.

I plucked these red ripe fruits from their stems and cut them into pieces to put in the blender.

“But first, I need to wash this...!”

I need to ensure it’s clean to ensure no other flavor is affecting the finished product.

Now, I put the tomatoes in and sprinkle a dash of salt.

Then, turn the handle!

“Ohhhh!”

Tomato juice, ready to serve!

The bright red liquid fills the cup.

“If you’re looking for a healthy juice, this is it.”

“We can also put vegetables in the blender, Master?!”

“Of course you can.”

The blender is versatile.

It has the generosity to accept anything, whether it be vegetables or fruits.

“Even leafy greens like cabbage and spinach!”

“Oh!”

“Root crops!”

“Oh!”

“This blender can turn anything into delicious juice!”

I added some fruit to sweeten the vegetable juice and served it to the residents.

“Ohhhh! How invigorating!”

“It’s as if it’s dispelling all the fatigue in every nook and cranny of our body!”

The vegetable juice was well received by the orcs and goblins.

They are hard at work in the fields every day, after all.

Perhaps they needed a quick source of vitamins apart from their daily meals.

“How marvelous...! This... This blender is too powerful! It can swallow up anything in the world!”

Uh, I don’t think that’s possible...

It’d be a disaster if you treat the blender like Abaddon.

“Then, if so...!”

Veil trembles.

“Can I also put ramen in the blender?”

“No.”

Ramen is 100x better if you eat it as it is.

“Then...!”

Another ambitious person joins the conversation.

It’s Letasreit.

“What about beans?! I think they can be easily crushed after boiling!”

“Well, I think such a cooking method does exist...”

It’s those bean pastes, right?

But if you want a drink made from beans, you should just stick to soy milk.

“How about natto?”

“Here we go again...”

Horkosfon’s here with her natto proposal!

I doubt natto can be made into mixed juice.

...Right?!

The scary thing about natto is that the answer is never a hundred percent no.

“I think it’s worth experimenting.”

“How about adding some milk with the fruits? I think it would enrich the taste.”

The other residents started debating how to make a better mixed juice.

In time, a new otherworldly mixed juice may be developed by someone else.

* * *

One last thing, though...

“Veil, try this one next.”

“Oh, what’s this? I’m up for anything tasty.”

The liquid I offered to Veil, who readily agreed, is...

“Ohh! I’ve never seen anything like this before! It’s so... green!”

“Hehe. Try it.”

Veil, without any hesitation, gulps down this verdant juice in one go.

And then...

“Ewwwwwww!”

...reacted just as I expected.

“What IS this?! It’s so bad! I mean, it’s bitter! It smells like grass! I never expected one of your recipes would taste bad, Master!”

I know, because that’s how that drink is supposed to be.

While I was grinding things up in the blender, I wondered if that was possible.

Aojiru—the infamous hearty green juice.

I didn’t know the precise ingredients, so I just mixed all the leafy greens I could find.

“Urk... You tricked me, Master... This tastes so bad...!”

Veil begrudgingly sips the aojiru.

“Finally finished it. It was so bad... Okay, another glass.”

“You’re really sticking to your character till the very end, huh?”

Reaction to aojiru seems to be the same even in a different world.
