May is Upon Us - KZXcellent Content Update!
Added 2023-04-29 10:46:30 +0000 UTCHey everyone, it's time for your monthly post reflecting on what we got done the past month and what's happening in the future! As always thanks for your support, let's get into it!

First up, we got a recap of content released in April!
- Finished the Final Fantasy XIII playthrough
- Finished the Zelda Wind Waker playthrough
- Did a full playthrough of Zelda Twilight Princess
- Did a full playthrough of Zelda Skyward Sword
- Started the Star Wars Jedi Survivor playthrough
- Squeezed in a Reaction Stream to FF16's SoP & a Mario Party Sesh
To say this is less than what I wanted to give you guys this month would be an understatement. On balance, this month wasn't too great for me.
Early in the month I received an injury to the pinky of my dominant hand. A debilitating ache to the joints that put me out of commission for a week. Sad to say it isn't even fully healed 3 weeks later. It feels a little rough at the start and very end of each day, it's a minor annoyance that I wonder if I'll just be dealing with from now on, we'll see.
Anyway, losing a week of progress when I put this much on my plate really fucked things up if I'm being honest. Stacking a lot of Zelda in prep for TotK made sense with my timeline until I lost a week and also was engaged in FF13. Add onto that releases like the surprise Xenoblade 3 DLC and things had to get dropped.
I planned on doing Jedi Fallen Order and Breath of the Wild as lead-ins for their sequels but I had to just drop the idea when I ran out of time, realistically, and knew more fresh experiences would be more ideal. A good pivot, but not one I wanted to do at all as someone who constantly tries to overdeliver and is their own worst critic.
That said, the crunch I did for Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword really delivered results and now I'm way less stressed about my upcoming slate of content.

Speaking of, here's the currently planned slate of content for May!
- Finishing the Star Wars Jedi Survivor playthrough
- A playthrough of Xenoblade 3: Future Redeemed [DLC]
- A playthrough of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
- A playthrough of Final Fantasy XIII-2
- Misc. Streams - Drunk Mario Party, ect.
As a follow-up to last month's more ambitious plans, I have a decent grasp on what I need to do in May. Finishing up Jedi Survivor and getting through the Xenoblade 3 DLC before Tears of the Kingdom drops on May 12th. Not a massive undertaking based on the average length of both, in fact, this should be more relaxed than the previous like 3 weeks (thank god)
Once TotK is done and dusted we're getting right back to FF to finish the Final Fantasy Franchise Playthrough series. We got FF13-2, Lightning Returns, and then Final Fantasy XV to finish before FF16 drops on June 22nd. This will be enough time, but it does mean my streams will continue to be more focused on these LP-styled playthroughs possibly until I see credits on FF16 in June.

God, 2023 has been so stacked. Games like Octopath 2, Wo Long, and others got lost in the shuffle quite a bit and I'm still trying to stay above water in terms of keeping up with releases. Of course, if you've been on stream we've talked about this since like December pretty regularly.
We're gonna try and slip in some Drunk Mario Party sessions (it's a stream goal incentive I'm working on now) while doing these. Boy I cannot wait until we get through this and the promised slow period in July-August will arrive. (it will not arrive we'll probably get a Nintendo Direct or Geoff Keighley's Show or Sony will reveal 18 games coming out this year we had no idea about oh god oh fuck.)
But when things slow down, I'll be hitting up numerous deathstreams and other promised projects and also some other fun one-off streams. The challenge of content creation is staying fresh and timely. This is why I streamed RE4 before RE4 Remake, did a Sonic Marathon before Frontiers, and the Zelda Mini Marathon and FF playthroughs before their respective big releases. It actually does grow the channel a bit so thats sick, it is arduous though.
I did want to say this so people who donate to me for stream goals and see them on the back burner do not get concerned. Yes, I'm going to stream MGS1-4, and Avatar the Game, and Breath of the Wild eventually. I keep a list, and the last thing I want to do is EVER give off the vibe that I'm not delivering and I think that's maybe clear in that I have written about a dozen paragraphs about my job of livestreaming video games at 5AM.
I'm someone always concerned with being fully understood. I also even if I joke around on stream, respect my audience. I read the comments, tweets, and messages. The past decade of seeing content creators go "Don't read the comments" is maybe one of the most tone-deaf statements I've ever seen and I just do not jive with it at all.
You guys keep the lights on, I appreciate that. Especially when I take on health issues like this past month or other issues like rent increases in my home. I hope being a bit transparent helps, and hope people enjoy the content I make.
Anyway, I should head out. We got a lot to do, and after I finish resting this weekend, we can jump into May 1st and get some stuff done! Please look forward to more cool stuff ahead.
