Alien on Youtube
Added 2025-07-01 07:37:36 +0000 UTCI have the Alien review set up for Youtube finally! The audio is completely re-recorded, but it is almost entirely the original. I mostly tweaked some words and removed things that were redundant with the behind the scenes Perfect Organism already.

I had mentioned I was going to redo this completely, but obviously I didn't. Why? Well, I was actually kind of down on this one, for a stupid reason. Back in the Blip days, there was a guy on Blip who reviewed reviewers, and he picked my Alien review for judging me, and was highly critical of it. I don't know who it was, it's probable he stopped when Blip shut down, but it stuck with me because - as established - I already have imposter's syndrome so things like that are going with the grain.
Then I started going through the script and basically I don't feel anything in there that should go. Aside of leaning a little hard on some of the sexual gags more than I typically would, it seemed like what I'd do today. In fact the only thing that I had made a note of that wasn't in the original review was the strobe patterns you couldn't get away with today because of concerns about seizures, and I didn't think important enough to change to include (besides, it's not as if I could show it, that would be stupid), though now saving that Simpsons "Battling Seizure Robots" gag was a waste.
