Weekend Rewards and TNG

The holdup is that it was a brutal several days. Our part of the country hit a heat index over 100F/38C for days. Even with central air conditions it was a losing battle when it came to sleeping - I wound up taking a couple of cold packs from the freezer and putting them under the pillow so that it would cool down that little bit. Compounding it was my wife was out of town, and my son took a 5AM shift at the foundry, and doesn't know how to drive so I had to be awake for that. Just several days of not being able to sleep and not being able to be awake, productivity kinda tanked.

I went with a restoration because I wanted something easier since I'm doing all this Alien stuff right now. What a mistake, this episode had a bunch of problems that needed fixing, technical to even content. First, the audio was in bad shape, so I tried to use my very limited knowledge to try to make it passable. Once that was done, there were other problems. I'd forgotten this one I'd screwed up Joe Biden with John Kerry (oops). I wasn't sure what to do, I've tried not to change things like this, but the joke doesn't make sense, both with a mistake and the correct one now being dated too irrelevance. So I changed it, a mistake is one thing but when the show is worse off for it, I see no reason not to fix. Since I was, I took out the Sarah Palin one, which I had put in for balance (no longer needed) and again, dated too irrelevance. Only because I was fixing it anyway. Then Youtube seems especially fixated on this one because I really struggled with getting it past the bots. Oof.

I'm still working on fixing a few things by this weekend. I'll try to stay ahead on the weekend rewards this time, but the next Mission Gamma chapter is huuuge, of course. Ah well.
