Almost daily I receive messages or see posts from music producers struggling with the same damn issue, how do I get beyond the 16 bar loop stage and finish more tracks?

Last month I touched on the two competing factors I think are at the core of this:
Do you have the skills and tools at your disposal to take an idea from A to Z and actually finish a track?
&
Do you let yourself get in the way of the production process - ADHD, perfectionism, OCDs, stress, lack of time.

Before I started on YouTube I think I suffered more from the former, which was simply a lack of skill or knowledge. After years of banging my head against the wall, running into the same problems over and over again, I made it my mission to go back to the basics and learn every technique I possible could.
I watched every YouTube video, read every article I could and reverse engineered all the great artists I admired like Photek, Source Direct & Artemis to learn from the best and acquire the necessary skills to actually bring tracks across the finish line.

That journey has essentially been what I've shared on YouTube over the last 4 years. In some ways, focusing more on YouTube projects and less on trying to be the world’s best producer has helped immensely. It lowered the bar, created deadlines & gave me a platform to share what I made.

One thing I’ve loved doing is the Patreon exclusive livestreams with Alex from Human Synthetics.
We want to do loads more like this in the future & eventually start a small record label to bring everyone together and release their music. Arcologies has already set the template for this with his Planetary Drift compilations, which come out on cd & casette as well as being featured on 4am YouTube channel.
With nearly 17,000 subscribers, I've now got a great platform to showcase peoples music and build similar compilation albums. That’s really my goal for the next year or so, to bring this process full circle for everyone who supports me on here. 😊

Above all, finishing music is something I've really struggle with myself and I think that alone gives me such a great insight into how I can give you guys the necessary skills to get your tracks out there and fulfil your potential as music producers. 🥷
I’ve taken this week off to give my ears a much needed rest and recalibrate the direction of my ship a little. ⛴️
I will be back with another blog post next week tackling arrangement strategies in lots more detail but I just wanted to give a quick update today.
Big ups everyone! Your continued support means the world to me. We’re all on this journey together. 🚀
