The elite often use thugs, crooks and terrorists to spread fear in order to justify more state power and authoritarian laws, like the Patriot act, or to justify invasion of the middle east etc. The Reichstag fire. Historical records and testimonies suggest that the fire was pivotal in the establishment of Nazi Germany. The Nazis used the fire as a pretext to claim that Communists were planning an uprising and to introduce the Reichstag Fire Decree, which suspended civil liberties and allowed for the arrest and incarceration of political opponents. Nothing ever changes. Whenever some chaos or atrocity hits the news, always ask yourself, 'who benefits politically?'.
