“Two strangers have survived a plane crash and now must trek through the Alaskan wilderness together to figure out how to survive.. and share a tent on the cold nights (sounds pretty gay to me!) There’s only one complication: one of the boys is deaf.”
I’m excited for this little story, I’ve had it stuck in my brain for almost a year now. It’ll be a bit more of a chill survival love story than the horror survival love story of Patchwork so we all get to enjoy both 😊 Hooray for gays surviving!
(PS. Bit of an awkward disclaimer but this story is absolutely not influenced the recent airplane and helicopter crash incidents around America, it’s purely coincidental. It’d be real fucked up to try and bank off of those tragedies)

I’m reading this several months later, carefully because of the easier read you mentioned (I couldn’t handle a patchwork-style plane crash story) because I used to be a figure skater, and a girl and a mom I knew that are like family were supposed to be on that flight. They missed it by a hair. I don’t believe in a higher power, but man. If anything would’ve converted me it would’ve been that. Still, the skating community is very small, so every skater on that flight was my people. Thank you for acknowledging them. Even briefly, knowing people outside the skating community won’t forget about them, even in passing, means a lot. (Mannnn you’ve got me all sappy and crying before the story even starts.)
