I have recently begun going to church again after not going for 5 years. My husband is not yet going with me, but the pull is so strong that I go alone. There wasn't any big 'thing' that caused us to stop going...just the COVID shut downs put us in a habit of not going. Then life got in the way and it was easier to stay home and take care of things we needed (aka wanted) to take care of...our priorities were screwed up. He says he'll start going with me soon. I think there is a strong sense, in him, of what you described as feeling when your father passed away...'why am I not getting what I prayed for?'. and he is working through that, I guess. But thank you for being so open and free with sharing your faith and how it has shaped your life!

2022-12-07 20:16:19 +0000 UTCI never knew about the strong ties these movies have with Christianity. I've been reading up some more on it, it's really fascinating. As someone who is, I guess open minded, I don't follow a particular religion. However, the older I get the more I feel life is telling me there is more to it than meets my eye, that's for sure. Everything is definitely tied together, through your reactions & films like this, Lord of the Rings & Harry Potter, I've learned just pieces of amazing culture. Authors like Tolkien, Rowling & C. S. Lewis have created fantasies that are able to introduce someone like me, who does not follow religion & create worlds intertwined with ideas & beliefs long held in other cultures. They've done such a wonderful work of expanding these beautiful cultures to a new audience. And speaking on my own behalf, as have you Kemi π€ Thank you for opening up & letting us into your world. You are blessed & we are blessed to have you.
