I am so glad you watched this and so glad you put the religious pieces together. I thought you would. The king being symbolized as the Lion and then being sacrificed and coming back. Yes everything in that kill scene was like a hell scape with horned beasts. Tolkien had a lot of religion in the Silmarillion (which is like an actual bible for that world)and Lord of the rings but this was more blatant. I loved this story and I am glad you enjoyed this too.
