As always, your character analysis is so sharp, your sense of principle is so strong, and your cultural insights are so interesting. I’m glad I’m not the only one who starts crying at the end! It's my favourite performance by Tom Hanks. My name is my real name! I wish there was a cool story behind it but there isn't unfortunately. Verity just means “truth” in Latin (veritas), and Ann is just from the Biblical “Hannah” which I think means “gracious” or “grace”.
