A couple of interesting facts that I'm sure will get brought up in the Youtube comments: - The reason Jerry Dandridge is always eating apples is because Chris Sarandon was studying bats to prepare for the role and decided Jerry had a bit of fruit bat in his DNA. - The character of Peter Vincent is based on two iconic horror actors; Peter Cushing and Vincent Price. - Amy would go on to further fame as The Bundys' neighbour Marcie in Married With Children. So for why nobody believed Charlie - the idea Tom Holland had for the movie originally was basically the story of the boy who cried wolf, but with a vampire. Even though Charlie doesn't really "cry wolf" because he's completely telling the truth the entire time, there's no way to say "my new neighbour is a vampire" and have people believe you. Even when it's not something supernatural, adults do tend to dismiss what kids say, just because they're kids.
