Yes. Ava was a stunner, for sure, but she didn't have the greatest singing voice. Studios often used a stand-in singer to dub in the leading ladies' vocals in these big musicals of the 1950s and 1960s, such as for Rita Hayworth in "Gilda" and Audrey Hepburn in "My Fair Lady" and Natalie Wood in "West Side Story." ... Am looking forward to Steven Spielberg's remake of :West Side STory" coming this December!

Ava was married to Frank Sinatra, Mickey Rooney, and Arte Shaw (not at the same time!). She was quite a beauty, but she was definitely dubbed. I believe this was her only musical. You might try Mogambo, The Barefoot Contessa, or On the Beach. You should definitely see this movie, Showboat. Terrific musical! YouTube: https://youtu.be/bDZ1xp66VSs
