Yes, some of this video is bits from the movie "Purple Rain." Originally, Vanity was going to play Prince's love interest, but at the last minute she left the movie (I think she and Prince broke up, but I may be wrong about that), so Prince replaced her with her near-lookalike Apollonia (he definitely had a type! 😉). The actor who played Prince's father 1:49 - 1:56 , Clarence Williams III, died two weeks ago.
