She also sang the lead and background vocals of the girl group Seduction's 1989 freestyle/dance-pop hit "(You're My One and Only) True Love". The actual group members only did some additional background vocals. Her lead vocals were altered and remixed, so it wouldn't be too obvious. Like "Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)", Clivillés and Cole were the producers behind that one, too.

Martha Wash of the Weather Girls sang the lead on several awesome 1990s dance hits, but did not initially get credit or royalties. So she had to sue and eventually won and got financial settlements, too. Woo hoo! The producers did not think she fit the "sexy" type they were looking for, so they got thinner and "sexier" women to lip-synch Martha's vocals. ... KSO, are you familiar with "Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)" by C+C Music Factory? That was a No. 1 pop hit in the U.S. and No. 6 in Canada in 1990, and Martha's vocals are featured prominently but are lip-synched by Zelma Davis. ... Besides "Strike It Up," another one she sang on was 1990's "Everybody, Everybody," also by Black Box. Both of these songs were No. 1 dance hits and No. 8 pop hits in the U.S. You will not see Martha in the music videos (French model Katrin Quinol does the lip-synching for Black Box) ... but there's no doubt that that's Martha Wash's powerful and beautiful voice!

Marcus Oh-really-yes

Yup! You've hit the nail on it's head. The actual singer is Martha Wash of The Weather Girls, who also sung on the majority of the tracks on the first Black Box album
