I would love to see this. By all means, Google, ship with your default source installed, and even have a mechanism in place with a blocklist of known harmful repos, but let people use their systems how they want. if it means they have some security issues, well, that's the case with ANY computer.

The best thing to do in my opinion would be to have a truly independant app store on Android that just lets you add repositories or sources via an URL, that way you could add Google's play store as a source or Samsung's app store as an app repository, etc... F-Droid works like that and it's just fine, now whether big tech companies are willing to give up their fight to become a monopoly is another question 😉.

The new cinnamon theme seems to be looking pretty good, nice work from the Mint team 👍. Now I just wish they had a better GUI or at least a better applet to manage Bluetooth devices, blueman looks so old and unintuitive.

I do think they need to have a proper process to allow third-party apps to be installed. There should be a warning, but there needs to be a proper process for the software companies and users.
