Hey everyone!

Here is what I'll be working on in July, and what you can vote on!

• Linux News: as usual, every Saturday, so 4 of these videos in July

• Cosmic Desktop Alpha: for real this time, the date seems set to the end of the month, so after 4 months of me saying I'll review the alpha, I might finally be able to do so!

• There is no "best" desktop: just a little opinion piece on the heated state of conversation about desktops and tiling WMs, to re contextualize the fact that a one size fits all approach never works, and that no desktop is the best for every single user

And since I have no strong opinions on any of the other ideas I have for July, you can vote on all of these:

• App verification and packaging: a bit of mythbusting: just a little look at native packages, vs verified apps on Flathub or Snaps, the potential security risks of them, the recent moves from Mint making unverified flatpaks invisible by default, and why it's misguided. Basically, a "state of the Linux app distribution" sort of video

• Trying to run big Windows Programs on Linux: I'll download a few popular Windows programs and try to run them under Linux using Wine, Proton and similar solutions, to see whether this can be done or not, just as an experiment. Stuff like Office, Creative Cloud, Autocad, and the like.

• No one makes native Linux games anymore, and that's fine: an opinion piece on how we probably shouldn't focus on a "Linux" version of video games, and instead on Proton support. I'll talk about the potential pitfalls as well.

• What the community uses: web browsers. A poll and conclusions on the web browsers people use, the extensions they use on them, the main reasons for each web browser. The goal being to get a birds eye view of what people favor on Linux, and the potential preconceived notions attached to various browsers.
