My favorite thing about the series is the evolution of Clark and Chloe friendship, it’s just so heartfelt and gradually matures into something extremely special.

Fun fact, the guy who plays the Kryptonian was Jimmy Olsen in the old school Superman movies with Chris Reeves.

Okay, I admit it. Lana SHOULD have known something was off about him. It's embarrassing that CHLOE figured it out before her. Lana shouldn't have let her "fantasy", as Tia put it, trump her instincts. However, I do have one devil's advocate argument. Bizarro does have all of Clark's memories and thoughts, so if anyone can masterfully impersonate Clark it'd be him. C'mon, most of the audience didn't even know it wasn't Clark till they revealed it. Also, no one ever acknowledges that Lana was basically raped by him for weeks, just another trauma to add to her lifelong list of traumas. So she does have my sympathy on that level. I do agree that she's not entirely a victim either, she did play a part in allowing herself to be fooled for so long.

Yep 👍 that’s exactly how I saw everything even when I first watched it. When I first watched this episode I was like “wtf?” Lol when Lana said all those words to the Phantom I was sad for Clark because I felt she told all truths and deep down Clark knows she told him the truth. For things to had just went back to normal after that would’ve been insane. Clark and Lana didn’t even get to have a happy reunion because her mind was filled with the other fantasy Clark. The Clark who agreed with her, who understood her. Who she wouldn’t get judgement from. A Clark she can be free with. And yep, the Phantom preyed on Lana’s obsession and it worked perfectly even though he fell in love with her in the process. You know it’s bad when Phantom/Lana have a better relationship than Clark/Lana had had in 3 years... that means it’s time to truly evaluate the relationship. And yep you are right, they are back to square one where everything wasn’t that special.

I just typed my comment and hit enter and then saw this comment load after. 😂

Assuming you're still slightly confused at the ending, the gist of it is that things have become super awkward. Naturally Clark will wonder how Lana couldn't tell the difference between himself and the Phantom. On top of that, Lana was 'happier' when with the Phantom. Imagine sleeping in the same bed with your partner knowing your evil twin has had their paws on them in your absence. Then lastly, we come to memory, Lana shared things with the Phantom (the whole project scion stuff) because the Phantom preyed on Lana's obsession in order to get much closer to her, Clark has absolutely no idea what Lana was doing or was planning to do. Now they're back to square one where they feel uncomfortable around each other and cannot be entirely honest.

You seemed a bit confused with the Clark and Lana distance in the last scene of this episode and let me explain it. Lana spent a whole month with a person who was NOT Clark and it was the most happiest she’s ever been with “Clark”. Even though she did the right thing in the end by killing him, none of the words and feelings she said were lies. “I've never been more in love than I have the past month. Only it wasn't with you.” She meant every single word which is why throughout the episode and even throughout the weeks somewhere deep inside Lana knew Clark wasn’t acting 100% like himself but the fantasy of what she wanted him to be was better than the reality. When the real Clark returned to her she was still have some problems believing she was tricked. Lana is supposed to love him and know him better than anyone and Chloe was able to figure out that Clark’s personality was on a whole different planet and Lana just accepted it because she got her fantasy. Clark felt betrayed and couldn’t wrap his mind around the fact that the woman he loves so much didn’t know it was him and seemed to had been very happy with him at that. Clark and Lana drifting apart has been in the making for quite sometime and had been showing episode by episode. Clark saw a side he didn’t fully love in Lana in the “Wrath” episode because he was with a Lana that he didn’t recognize. They never got to repair things after that fully that. They spend a month apart (unknowingly to Lana) and that’s the happiest Lana has ever spent with a person who isn’t even Clark. That’s the reason for the distance in the end, symbolizing that they have a lot to work on.
