Finally, the Steam Console is done, Tech Sector problems, and Linux News Podcast - Patroncast S03E04
Added 2023-01-23 10:13:01 +0000 UTCHey everyone!
I hope you're all doing well, and welcome to all the new supporters, whether you decided to fund what I do on the youtube channel or the News Podcast :)
In this week's exclusive Patroncast, I talk about:
- 01:09: Finally building my own Steam Console! It runs Linux, it runs Steam in Big Picture Mode, it never asks for a password, it's plug an play and connected to my TV, and it's been fantastic!
- 15:31 Tech Sector problems, and a general feeling that big tech companies just have no idea how to keep growing, can't seem to find "the next big thing", and as a result, are laying people off so they can still report growth for investors
- 24:06: the Linux News Podcast, and how well it's doing (spoiler: very well, I report numbers of 1000 listens for the last episode, but since I recorded the patroncast, it's actually closer to 1200). But also, is it doing "too well", in the sense that it hurts the profitable side of the channel (the Linux News Videos)?
I hope you enjoy listening to this one, and as always, I'm ready to read and answer your questions!

I also use ChimeraOS (https://chimeraos.org/) for a full couch gaming experience. Its really good. But as "Ingo G" said, there is no way for using a BT-device for waking up from suspend. But a wireless keyboard or something like that should do the job. I just tested it on that chimera-pc.
2023-01-30 10:15:58 +0000 UTCReally? I posted a link to it on Mastodon yesterday, but yeah, I don't mention it all that often: only once in the latest news video, and on Mastodon :) It's also super recent, it started at the beginning of January!

2023-01-29 13:53:54 +0000 UTCPerhaps I'm the odd one here, but this is literally the first time I've heard about the Linux News podcast -- I don't use Mastodon at all, and I haven't gotten around to watching the most recent 2-3 news videos. Had to scroll past several posts in Mastodon to even find a link to the podcast!
