Vote on October's Topics!
Added 2022-09-23 07:24:21 +0000 UTCHey everyone!
Here is your chance to vote on what I'll cover in October!
First, here are the things that are a given:
- Of course, we'll have the Linux News videos, 4 in October, every Friday (as I try a new work rhythm that seems to work pretty well for now)
- Next, I'll review another Mini PC from Desk Mini, which looks like a pretty good deal in terms of price / performance
- There will also be the release of KDE Plasma 5.26, and Ubuntu 21.10 plus its variants
- I'll also do a follow up video to the "Things Linux does better than Windows", but for macOS
- And I'll also look at alternatives to youtube, whether it's alternative websites, or customized apps and sites that give you youtube access but with more features, or less problems
And now, let's see what you can vote on:
- Android and chromeOS: should we count them as Linux successes? This one was almost picked last month, so here it is again!
- Windows vs Linux: performance test. On the same hardware, I'll run some benchmarks between Windows 11 and a Linux distro, to compare gaming performance, blender renders, RAM usage, disk space usage, and more, to see which OS is the most efficient
- Open Source your Android phone: a look at how to start using FOSS apps on Android phones and tablets without going the full "New ROM" route
- Crystal Linux: who is it for: a first entry in my personal spin on the distro review: I'll look at this new Arch based distro and try to find who exactly it is for in terms of user. Other distros might follow if this format does well
- Big tech drives Linux, is it a bad thing? A look at how Linux development is shaped by big companies, how it works, and if it's something to be worried about
So, pick the ones you prefer, and I'll work on the 3 who get the most votes!
