Sleeper video hits, the mystery of the StarLite laptop, and building my own video website for you - Patroncast S02E31
Added 2022-08-08 13:48:25 +0000 UTCHey everyone!
Here is episode 31 of the patroncast!
In this one, I talk about:
- 1:33 : "Sleeper hits" videos, or how I learned a lot about the youtube algorithm thanks to my last video, and how fun it was to create!
- 12:06 The Starlabs Starlite, and how I don't really know how it's for, or in which category to slot it in
- 22:10 Building a dedicated home for all my videos, ad free and sponsor free, for patrons and youtube members, as a website or an app: good or bad idea?
Don't hesitate to let me know what you think about these topics in the comments, I would really like your opinion on the Starlite, and on the dedicated app thingy!
Best,
Nick

The slightly better specs from an average of: Starlite has: - Newer RAM - Worse iGPU - Able to burst - Lower default freq - Four true cores vs. two hyperthreaded - Less peripheral bandwidth - Newer peripheral protocols I would average that out to a slight win for the Starlight, but it’s small margins here.

I get why you don’t know who it is for - these specs are only marginally better than the min spec Surface Go 2 I’m using for general tablet duty, gaming via the Steam Link app with BT controller or mouse & keys, and very occasional super light work with those peripherals. Imagining that machine without touch and with a firmly attached keyboard and trackpad? Not really sure what I would do with that either, no.
