Yeah, it's really something I want to do! The easy part is that I can work from anywhere, I'm fluent in English and French, and I think Portugese won't be too tricky either, as it's a latin language and I already speak Italian as well. I also don't have kids, which makes things a lot easier :D

Leaving the country and settling in another country with another language sounds like quite a project, but will certainly be worth it. Personally have worked as a German in the Netherlands and in the UK for a while and would not want to miss it, though might not have been that easy from a family perspective (...).

Yeah, it looks very nice, exactly what I'm looking for in terms of temperatures, access to the ocean, mentality... A lot of people are fine where they are, and don't want to move, and that's ok, but I really like discovering other ways of thinking, living, and just seeing other places. To me, traveling and living abroad has always been a goal, and now that I can do it pretty safely, I think it's time! I lived in Chalons sur Marne for 3 years, when I was in high school, it was probably from 2001 to 2004, I was at Lycée Bayen :) I actually lived right next to the school, rue du sauvage, I spent most of my time back then in a cybercafé called "Surf'n'Shoot" :D

Hey Nick ! Great project that you have here. Portugal is a very nice country. I can confirm that people from France are a bit reluctant to moving. My siblings will never leave their hometown even if they have a job that they can do anywhere. I get that it's comfortable, you have all your friends here and family but you're missing so much. I didn't travel a lot for work, but I worked in Le Havre, Saint-Quentin en Yvelines and it's great to see something different from my hometown (Reims BTW 😉). I understand your desire to move from France, mentality can be very annoying. Wait for another round of fully blocked SNCF in a few month... Personally, I tought about Germany, Switzerland or Canada. Maybe one day... Can't believe you lived in Châlons (sur Marne, a while ago). Any chance it was when you were a kid ? School Croix Dampierre ?
