September Update

Greetings again, everyone!

I have processed your voting points for September and assigned them to your forum account. There are three Patreon users who have not signed up for forum accounts or let me know their forum usernames. I am logging your voting points, but you will need a forum account to vote when we reach our milestone goals.

That brings me to our Milestone. Throughout August, we raised $303.51. A slight decline from what we raised in July, but we beat the monthly goal and maintained a healthy split between Patreons and Paypal contributions. We are now at $1239.51, or 41.3% of the Milestone goal, with 8 months before the deadline. If we continue our current pace, we should have the Milestone funded ahead of time. Our current monthly goal is now $220. Reoccurring subscribers (Patreon) cover $152.21 of that.

So now that I have bored you to death with numbers, what's been going on with AeroMogul? About 12 days ago, I showed off a rudimentary video of the current settings panel. I am happy to report that the settings system and settings UI are complete. It also includes the necessary backend configuration files and implementations of the systems the settings can configure, like input and sound. Over the next few days, I'll be cleaning up some of that code. Then I'll move on to creating the New Game window, Load Game window, and so forth. As mentioned previously, the work on the Main Menu UI doesn't sound important, but it allows me to get familiar with the new engine and UI system. It also allows me to set the groundwork for the game's UI and UX experience without being too deep in the gameplay.

I hope to get MrX_ua working on the background in the next few days. That should improve the looks of the Main Menu and show off the game's graphical improvement over GearCity. I'll probably have another video update for FBS contributors in the next 2-3 weeks. Possibly with some Audio commentary. But maybe not. I have a voice only deaf people can love.

Finally, I paused GearCity Documentation Monday/Tuesday to work on GearCity v2.0.0.7. This update is mostly a minor bug-fix patch, but I did nerf racing contracts somewhat.

Thank you all again for reading! If you have any questions or comments, feel free to reply.

Oh nice, some of those sections in red I've been figuring out through experimentation! Haven't quite tried a new map-from-scratch yet, but that was on my wish list last year (and now I think I know enough to do it, but have been polishing up last year's mod instead). I know what you mean about how forgetting how things work after being away from them a while...

> MrX_ua = Serhiy? If so, I'm glad to hear he's able to work given the war. Yes. Although he's a lot harder to get a hold of these days. > I'm curious about the GearCity Documentation - is that more video tutorials, or Wiki improvement, or something else? Currently, I am finishing the wiki: https://wiki.gearcity.info . Any sections you see in red, I still need to do. I also have to grammar check and improve anything after the red block. Beyond that, I will also redo the Mod-tools video tutorials, similar to how I did the game video tutorials. I may also make an example map/mod for those tutorials. (Probably North America.) The final little bit is documenting and cleaning up GC's code. That's an internal thing, but as I get deeper into AeroMogul, I forget more and more about how GC works.
