I have chosen to pay becuase I think that the author is a talented artist that deserves support. The prequel has no impact on your enjoyment of the main story, you are here out of your own volition, you even paid money to be subscribed and you clicked on every post instead of just ignoring them since it's clearly not your cup of tea (?). Her being the victim of sexual abuse isn't exactly a secret in the main story either.

I for one appritiate the artist going into the dark side of this story. It's realistic and draws more sympathy for the elf who had horrible things done to her. Sure it could just be hinted at but that's just not as impactful, making her story more forgetable. Actually seeing the events that lead up to the future events (hopefully) spurs the feelings of the readers of wanting to protect her and can come to appritiate the MC who is currently taking care of her. That's just my 2 cents on it.
