I got my father's watch when he died. I was 10, and this was in '52, way before digital time. I wore a succession of analog watches until I got my first digital watch in the 70s. Had a few digital watches until I got my first smartphone, then stopped wearing a watch until I got a smartwatch. I've still got a digital watch face, to match everything else in my life.

I remember that my first watch, back in those times, was a Ronald McDonald analog. And I begged for a digital watch and wore different variations of digital watches for years, until I got my first smartphone that I could rely on to run all day. Then I stopped wearing watches. But now I wear a smartwatch to go with my smartphone which I have set to simulate an analog watch face.

Wow.... Now I feel old; reading digital clocks is more of a "do math" thing for me compared to glancing at an analog clock and being instantly aware of the time of day down to the fraction of the hour.
