Oooh I just remembered a couple of TMs that my 30 year old daughter sent me last week (referencing my 3 year old granddaughter):
How did you get us to not be loud assholes at the library?
I used bribery and everything
My reply:
I just told y’all that you had to use your inside voices & in the beginning, we only stayed a couple of minutes. The longer y’all could keep quiet, the longer we’d stay. Also bribery (movie rental) worked as well.
Of course I’m sure that “the Mom stare” was used, & and as SOON as any of the 3 of them started being loud… it was time to GO

🤣🤣🤣 I grew up in a library. My Grandmother was a Lower School Librarian, so she & I spent our summers doing the inventory for the following year.
I can’t remember when I wasn’t in a library, from my earliest memory, and the card catalog was a GREAT toy!!

I am still Miles and his dad. And Carla. I wish I was Kevin about 40% of the time.

Me as a child was just Miles mixed with Kevin's fear of the doctor and red hair color.

Oh man, we could have a fun learning experience! I love SuDoc, but it's not for everyone. Mostly it's just for people heavily using government documents via the FDLP (Federal Depository Library Program).

Considering Miles is loosely based on myself as a child, one could say he learned about it today 😳

I'm Miles and I married a Kevin. Just wait until Miles learns about the far superior Library of Congress classification system. Or SuDoc!!! #librarian

Kids today will never experience the raw joy of flipping through cards in a tiny desk drawer.
