Man, there’s so much childhood cringe both coming and going. Kids are curious, have no filter and anything that’s different gets mentioned. It’d be a disservice to your comic to not include it.

2020-10-11 23:04:40 +0000 UTCI think you’ve got the balance right. There’s no negative connotations to what Kevin said, and he’s not inferring one shade of skin is better than another. But it’s still a misguided thing to say, and still shines an awareness on the wider societal issues

2020-10-11 22:50:45 +0000 UTCI try not to talk about race too much in the strip but I feel like it should come up at least about as much as it did in my childhood friendships with non-blacks. It was never malicious and more curious or matter-of-fact but it was always my friends that brought it up.
