Factory on a cold misty morning

High humidity and no wind makes this large factory look rather intimidating. (January 2022)

Thanks for the links :) Well that 'Hello Sun' movie (my seemingly never ending project) will have to be HDR in the end. On my Panasonic OLED TV I've made a setting that uses maximum brightness and a different gamma, previewing what it would look like as HDR. (And something tells my all TV's do something similar the default settings.) I never use that setting for grading but am kind of hoping that in this way I can relatively simply convert it a timeline to HDR.

(It just hit me that I just presumed that the remote monitoring would be in HDR, I may be wrong. πŸ™)

Of course I've seen that video, multiple times! That's why I wrote "I would love to see a new updated HDR-video on your channel!". 😊 It was that specific video that sent me down the HDR-rabbit hole to begin with. πŸ˜† I don't think you have to worry much about problems with the hdr/sdr-content when color grading/exporting in HDR HLG. Please look at this short video about just that from another awesome and creative YouTuber who have spend many hours experimenting with HDR in DaVinci: https://youtu.be/9gLuGBYnjsg?si=SKxe05P6J6ghKo-8 (Of course, most LOG-formats require a LUT or just a fast and simple manual color correction to work out.) If you have an oled phone you can enable DaVinci remote monitoring to get HDR in realtime when editing on the primary SDR monitor. https://youtu.be/XIXVV8u-JRE?si=S07XjfCsvu_-Eo6i Please at least do some experiments with HDR if you haven't, I'm quite sure you will find its benefits thrilling. #10bitFTW

OH, that is a biggie! I'm not sure if I'm quite ready to plunge into that rabbit hole 😁 I'd be afraid it would look bad for many viewers without (or even with) HDR. Currently I can't even set my connected OLED TV to HDR in Win10 since I installed the new videocard (just tried), which shows that things can get really complicated really soon... So I'm afraid I will stick to SDR for quite some time longer... Have you seen my 2021 video on HDR (before my channel blew up) 😁 https://youtu.be/bghzDv8IZkM Nice test by the way ;-)

Many of the wonderful photos you post here would really benefit from the higher dynamic range, color space and 10-bit color resolution of HDR. Modern mobile devices, computer screens and TVs can handle HDR very well. I have a sub par HDR600 computer display but the effect can still be absolutely fantastic, even when the HDR effect is used subtle. Some good examples at Adobes website: https://blog.adobe.com/en/publish/2023/10/10/hdr-explained (Microsoft Edge can display those HDR-pictures properly, I assume browsers in recent mobile devices with HDR-screens works well too.) Moreover, as you probably know version 19 of DaVinci Resolve (which I know you are using) Windows HDR-screen is supported allowing to color grade HDR content without any expensive add on hardware! Including the free version! (I am working to establish a workflow from my Canon CLOG3 source to 10-bit HDR HLG output from Resolve to x265/AV1 files which can be uploaded to YouTube. I did a superfast (and sucky) test the same day I upgraded to Resolve 19: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGW_0NyKfkg) I would love to see a new updated HDR-video on your channel! πŸ™‚ And that upcomping releases all will be i HDR. #iwoteforhdr

I love factories and everything about it... Do you think I can make this a computer desktop background? :)
