2024-09-29 07:35:09 +0000 UTC@Plushifoxed I want to call to you to account about your assertion that it's stealing. I've seen that word a lot and I don't feel I've ever seen it defended properly. I also think you've never used a generative AI tool and realised how much work goes into getting a result you want, there is a crapload of human effort here. If you really think the word "stealing" applies to making vfx like these, would you explain from your perspective, what was taken away from anyone (ie: stolen)? I'm not defending the AI industry, I just don't believe that "stealing" is a valid word to be using for this situation.

2024-09-28 19:26:49 +0000 UTCim going to repeat what i said in the comments in order for it to actually be seen instead of being lost in the noise: framing the backlash to the video as "people are so negative, they hate me now :(" is an embarrassing way of dodging responsibility. people don't hate you. they are disappointed with you, they are disapproving of your actions: but that is because *they like you and the things you create and have created with your own two hands*. they have respect for you and your creations; seeing you give in to the lowest common denominator to create generative sludge that steals from countless other artists and wastes massive amounts of electricity and natural resources to do it... it's disappointing, not hateful.

I clearly didn't communicate that well enough, and many viewers might not get to that point in the video at all. One thing is quite certain: I won't be needing that icon again 😅
