Next Series Beginning Poll!
Added 2023-07-30 00:08:32 +0000 UTCEnded: Poll Closed Monday July 31st
It won't be for a little while, but with the release of Book One and the coming release of Book Two of Blood Shaper, we're moving closer to me having more free time to work on writing instead of being at the day job. I'm hoping that I'll be able to move full time by the end of the year, although that might not happen. Either way, soon enough it'll be time to start working on the second series of the Shattered Five Saga.
For those of you who might not know everything, which mught be most people I haven't been incredibly detailed about it, Kay and four friends were all together when the event that sent them hurtling into other dimensions happened, and now they each have a story. This poll will decide which series I start working on next! I did this pole before, but things have changed for each story between now and then, and the first time was a little premature too.
So without furthur ado, the three options for the next series (The last one and the first one were already decided, Kay goes first and the last one is the last one):
(Oh, and these aren't the titles of the series or any of the books this is just how I think of them in my head)
The Contractor:
Reincarnation, Low-Stat, Card/Deck Based System
The as of yet unnamed main character reincarnated into a magical world where people gain powers based on the cards they put into magical soul-bound decks that everyone has. Once a person reaches adulthood they reveal their "base card" or "class card" which gives them the starting point to build their deck off of, as well as the theme of what types of cards they can gain and use. The main character gets a Contractor base card, which gives him the ability to make binding agreements with sapient magical beings, where each party gives something in order to gain something. Every base card comes with a quirk, something that makes it a little different for each person, and his is that his contracts can only end with the death of one of the parties. With most beings out there unwilling to bind themselves to him for the rest of their lives, the main chracter ends up bound with an energetic young flying serpent. Completely happy to have his new friend along for the ride, there's just one problem, his new friend eats a lot. With food costs rising and the academy that teaches people how to wield their cards and decks only subsidising his food costs for a few months, our main character has to take up a job that he has no desire to do, one that delights his new companion to no end: monster hunting. Maybe with some high-risk high-reward bounty hunting on the side. (MC's name on Earth was David, he got a new name after reincarnating that I haven't decided on yet)
The Sailor:
Standard Isekai, No-Stats, Super Power(Ish) Based Progression System
Noah ended up in a world that to him seemed a lot like victorian england, except there's a bunch of technology powered by magical crystals, the world is a flat square dominated by a gargantuan ocean, and everyone has super powers. Thankfully, he also got a super power when he ended up here, one of the most sought after and ruthlessly hunted super powers there are: He's a Seer, which means he can see the magic of other people, items, and the insane number of monsters that live in this world. Not knowing what to do, he hides his abilites from everyone, rightfully terrified of being scooped up by a rich person and forced to serve them. he works small jobs to stay afloat until a small-time gang figures him out and forces him to help them rob a sky ship. When he and the gang get caught by the crew, they make him a deal. They won't turn him over to the authorities like the surviving gang members, but he has to apprentice on as their newest ship's Seer. Seeing it as a better deal than prison or being turned into a debt slave, Noah agrees. Now he's off on a harrowing adventure through the seas and skies of this flat world, one with a massive handful of espionage and fights mixed in thanks to the secrets the ships crew have.
The Dungeon Core:
Reincarnation into a Dungeon Core, Standard-Stats (Similar level to Blood Shaper), Standard LitRPG system (Classes, Screens, Etc)
Chase wakes up as a dungeon core, almost gets killed by a ghost, exorcises the ghost, has the ghost come back to be his dungeon assistant, and has a god ask him a favor. That's all in week one. The goddess wants him to serve as the repository for people to come and test themselves to see if they're worthy of drawing the blade of her power and becoming her newest champion. With the ghost of her previous champion as his dungeon assitant, he agrees. Now, along side dealing with the fact that he's the first ghostly dungeon core that's ever appeared in this region, which makes him a rare source of spectral mana, he also has to cope with the fact that there are people out there that really want that sword, and reallt don't care about the health or safety of the dungeon the sword is in.
Since it's a dungeon core series, there will be a secondary main character that's someone delving into the dungeon. (Why fix it if it ain't broke?) She (no name yet) is a young necromancer priestess of the god of death that would like to stop being a necromancer thank you. With a new dungeon appearing, she gets her chance to start delving and see if she can evolve her class into something thtat doesn't involve raising up dead bodies into shambling monsters, paving the way for other unfortunate people who get stuck with the necromancer class at their sixteenth birthday to free themselves of that hated class.
(There will be no world-ending plotlines or anything that escalates like that. All "on screen" threats will be relegated to the dungeon and the people in/around it. Connections to bigger events will be mentioned, but I'm not a fan of going from one dungeon to suddenly the world is at stake a book later.)
Please vote on what you'd like me to start working on next! Planning and detailed outlining for book one fo that series will being after the vote ends! (I'll give it a few days). All of these series will be written, right now you're just deciding what the order is.

Dungeon Core is boring. Not a fan of card games.
