That's one reason I thought about it as an addon rather than a second speaker. Maybe if she wakes up and the sounds are just on the edge of hearing, clearly coming through the wall from her sister's room, she wouldn't be suspicious. Or there could be an app on her phone which tracks when she's awake, to make sure the addon stops before she wakes up. And then after quite some time preparing, Mum gets ready to make it real. Maybe a holiday where they have to share a room. "I'll set the speaker on its lowest setting, and it's only for a week. You'll be okay with that, won't you?" Then suggesting some protection as a temporary thing, because it's too late to change their plans. Or maybe casual comments about how mature Jasmine used to be. "I bet if I'd tried it on you, we would barely have noticed the difference. You wouldn't have lasted a week". Goad the older sister into trying to prove she could resist it

i love the way you think kitty. i think it's true that it's unlikely mrs wu can do the exact same routine with Kaylee. for one, i think this kind of thing only really works when you don't know what's happening. i doubt jasmine ever even consciously saw the Soothe and Wiggle in full swing. she probably still thinks it's just a white noise machine. ditto for the storybook too, even if she did remember having dreams about being a princess, she didn't connect them with her new night-time habits. kaylee knows full well what the machine does, but finding another reason for her to read the storybooks, especially one where she gets to lord it over her sister, seems like a good move. i'm sure kaylee would NOT agree that "turnabout is fair play" and probably has bunch of (most paper thin) reasons why her little sister shouldn't wear undies anymore which would never apply to her. i love the idea of an addon kit and mrs wu would probably love the the unknowing pre-induction (which probably takes a bit longer, due to the weaker nature of the treatment. Kaylee may be very wary of hearing lullabye type sounds however. i'm not sure what would happen if she woke up in a suddenly in a panic during one of the special noise and light shows.

I'd love to see how the older sister responds to "turnabout is fair play". Would she argue more because she's seen it before? Would mum insist that it's only fair because it was her idea? Or need a little subterfuge? Maybe Kaylee can read bedtime stories to her little sister for a couple of weeks. Maybe that device is good for just helping you sleep, now the baby doesn't need it anymore; and Kaylee looks like she's not sleeping well. Or they take a family vacation, so the girls have to share a room. I can imagine a few potential customers might ask the manufacturer about that after seeing the article, and sooner or later they release a "me too" pack for big sisters. An extra storybook to read to the baby, a second vibrating pad, and a directional subwoofer which might make the sounds from the device just barely audible in the next room. And Kaylee knows how much it took the thing to properly kick in for her sister; so she can't object to having the thing on its lower setting so they don't have to book an extra hotel room on a trip. She'd have to be a real baby to be affected by that; unless she's had a month or two of reading the stories, and listening to a preparation programme of the audio. So when mum finally adds the vibration pad to the routine, she won't notice until it's too late.
