When I first glanced at the title "newtech" and the headline, I thought this was going to be for a bluetooth wetness sensor or something. (I vaguely remember ads saying that was the next big thing, alerts on your phone when baby needs changing, but it looks like the ones that made it to market have been discontinued now… guess it wasn't popular in the real world). And that got me thinking about how those things would be different in your world. Probably wouldn't just be passive sensors.
