On my way to record Sammy Phase drums :D

It's half past 8 right now and I'm sitting on a train heading to Stoke to meet my mate Alfie. I'm just writing this to pass the time :-)

I'm not sure if I told you guys here but basically like last weekend Alfie and I got into this practice room/studio place and spent a few hours there playing some songs and recording some stuff!

I played drums and he was on guitar, we went through some songs we'd written together, and we recorded guitar/drums onto my laptop of those songs, plus as a bonus we did a live version of my song No which I'll be sharing for a Jamaraz Unreleased sometime soon!?

ANYWAY

I told some people that I was to be releasing Sammy Phase's debut EP last Saturday (18th Jan), but I actually cancelled it last minute. But why??? Well, that was also the same day that I was recording drums with Alfie, and after that experience, I decided I wanted to re-record the song Sidewalk Sandwich with proper real drums instead of my software drums! Don't get me wrong, I love software drums, but for something as raw as Sammy Phase's stuff, the only way you can emulate a badly-recorded drum kit is too actually badly record it! So that's what me and Alfie are going to be doing tomorrow morning, and that's why I'm heading there now and staying overnight.

So, the plan:

Re-record the drums for Sidewalk Sandwich. Then I'll re-record the rest back home and release the EP asap. I'll give you guys a heads up when that is!

I'll also be recording drums for a few newer songs that'll be on Sammy's 2nd EP.

I don't remember which EP2 songs I've teased on here. I think just '17 on 204'? If so then you're in for a treat, because some of these EP2 songs are so good!!!! Tale #49 is sort of a continuation of the narrative concerning Sammy's love interest "the red haired girl". Letters Between Two People is one of those songs that restore my faith in my songwriting ability - I'm really proud of it! It's basically a song about a soldier in WW2 sending letters to his girlfriend, and the verses sort of switch perspective from him to her and yeah. I can't wait to share all these songs with you guys!!!!

I've also developed Sammy's backstory a bit more, so this is for all the Loreheads out there



That's it explained in very brief terms, but you get the picture.

So anyway, that's all I've got to say about that right now. I think I'll be turning tomorrow's recording session into a jamavlog, so that'll be cool!
