Argynvostholt Preview

Hi folks!
I just wanted to post a preview of the first floor of Argynostholt for my patrons, as this one is taking a little longer than usual and I wanted to keep you updated - this is a large area, and I'm trying out some new things with it. Because of the increased attention to detail (and the learning curve that presented), finishing the first floor has taken much longer than expected, but the rest of the map should be a much smoother process.
I'm pretty happy with how this has turned out - this might be my favorite of the maps I've made yet.
Could I just ask that you tell me how you feel about the brightness of this map? I've spent several hours over the last few days trying to calibrate my monitors to get more accurate lighting and colors. Despite viewing this image with both my laptop and external monitors, as well as my phone, the results have been inconclusive. If you think I should aim brighter or darker, please let me know! I'll continue to fiddle with my calibration in the mean-time, but I don't know if I'll have a significant breakthrough in that regard any time soon...
All going well, I should be able to present the finished map to you by the end of the week!
I'm glad to hear it, Hannes - I can't tell you how much frustration the calibration process caused me, so I'm glad to hear this should help!

Thank you, Andy!
The green marble is one of my favorite little details about the map, but it was... so much work. There's a floor pattern in the Forgotten Adventure assets that alternates black and white tiles. There's a floor pattern that is just green tiles. I had to draw a few individual green tiles, and then paste them over the black tiles to get this effect. There were several points where problems with my method became known to me (for example, when I realised that the green tiles had the divides cutting through them, rather than around the desired diamond shape), so I probably spent several hours getting that right. Eventually figured out a fairly efficient method of doing it, though, so that'll help when it comes time to tackle Ravenloft...
I was unsure of the roads - I might experiment with them a little bit, perhaps add some weathered stone to make it look like there was paving that has since crumbled...

Holy shit, this is beautiful. The brightness seems right for me, not too bright but suitable for using day/night transition from foundry.
I do not think that the roads need more pronunciation, rather some bushes and minor shrubberies on them, it's a ruin after all and those paths do not get used very often.
I really like the map and the detail that went into it!

Holy hell, this is one of my favorite maps you've done! The fortress floor is amazing!! Loving the green marble and how worn and dirty it is. I personally think the lighting here is perfect. I think each area stands out and has purpose! The only feedback I'd offer is maybe make the roads slightly more pronounced might help break up the surrounding terrain with a slightly lighter color. Otherwise I think you are on track to making an amazing map! Can't wait to see it finished!
