got caught up with life things and re-thinking the side project, should have just asked Shiro if they were up for it to begin with.
this is a rough sketch of the character simplifications for the side comics and also some pictures of my new dog :)
a none connected side comic, with inspirations from the old newspaper strips of Calvin & Hobbes, which I read a lot as a kid <3
I'm hoping with it being smaller bits of comics, they will be easier to share around and help bring attention to the mane comic.

Seeing the difference between the rough sketches and the finished product still amazes me!

My website and even more so, webtoons, limit the file size of pictures that can be uploaded.
Which has caused quite a bit of compression of the picture, the latest page came in at twice the normal file size compared to others, this was a simple mistake made by Shiro, who's already gotten on to fixing it.
This character concept is a very long way off from being shown in the comic, but despite that, I both wanted to get it made and wanted more art from Nathan.
If the comic does well, I want his artistic skills to recreate different scenes from the comic in a cinematic style.

In my mind, this comic series already stretches several volumes ahead, with characters and story arcs being slowly put together, taking up just about every daydream I have.
One and a half volumes are already written down and fine-tuned.
It's the waiting and seeing that will get to you the most.

So I've been thinking of what I could do to give back, looked at what other creators like me have done.
I like the idea of Patreons putting forward art ideas and then voting on what gets made, could involve characters and settings from the comic or OC's from Patreons themselves, as long as the idea is SFW it can be put forth for voting!

these two are characters me and my brother played in D&D.
I made Bruce as an NPC, which sadly led to him not getting much development, except for when he talked with Leon.

I feel slightly stressed with how long it's taken to get to this point, but now I have a better grasp on how long things take and can aim to have a regular output of pages.
The first eight are ready, just need the cover art and something from a second artist, and it'll be good to go sometime in the next week or so.

So Crumph when I played him, only lasted 6 games before dyeing do to extremely unlucky rolls, but despite this, in my mind, he was one of the most worked-out characters I had made, he was a N/G divination druid who others couldn't lie to...
Pixxy WAS a N/E necromancy-focused witch, with a mask containing a devil...
so obviously, they got along great!
Pixxy's story was, they're a goblin who wanted to get stronger in order to not be hurt anymore, no one knew about the devil, not even P...
Work is a bit slow, but we're getting there.
Two pages are done up to this point, and the rest are only needing final rendering.
I've discussed with Shiro the idea of them being put on payroll and only working on the comic without other clients getting in the way, and they say they'd like that.
So as of right now, I can say once the first eight pages are out, we will try and stick to a one-page-a-month schedule.

While trying to translate my story into a comic, clear communication is key, so I got myself these little guys and a photo booth.
They're not very flexible, so you'll see Q-tips used to hold the spring-loaded joints open at the angle needed.
Then I drag them into Krita to photoshop them together into a page.
The moral of this story is there are ways to get around any lacking skill, you just got to think outside of the box.
Work on the comic does continue.
Currently, 3 pages are done up to this point, and 5 others are laid out.
With Shiro having a day job and other clients, this will take its time.
We both want the comic to look as good as we can make it, so thank you for waiting patiently.

Almost all of the characters in the comic come from different homemade games of D&D, some have been around as long as 16 years for me, but none have undergone as much shifting and change as Delilah.
She's a character I've played across a few games, first starting when she was a kid. Her design and personality have both undergone changes, but the underlying theme has continually been attempting to hold true to herself and her beliefs.
this is early concept art of Crumph, a different art style than the comic is going in but I love how this peace makes his character feel.
expensive but ever since this was made, I've wanted to go back and get all the other characters done by this artist.
