I had a lot of fun filming this one, and coming up with these chords!
Any two notes can sound good together. Here's one way to pass through all twelve intervals fluidly.
Enjoy £;^)

Yes! More ways to put any two notes together. This is an infinite path, so the best way to take it down is one step at a time £;^)

Yes bby! Play up and down pentatonic scales effortlessly
The pentatonic scale is comprised of five notes (penta=5, tonic=note). These notes are so balanced and consonant with one another, they all sound amazing and there's really no way to play a wrong note. Once you have this scale down, you can play over all types of chords without even thinking about it. Mastering the pentatonic scale is one of the greatest foundations you can develop in ALL OF MUSIC. Enjoy yall £;^)

I don't think there's a more simple statement that shows how the twelve notes play together. This is the first of a series where I show how any two notes, at any given time, can be harmonized, beautifully and effortlessly, in almost limitless context, just using a bit of flexibility and imagination. Enjoy this one, go make lush harmonies

Best hand workout possibly ever for the Push. Maybe for any instrument. After a bit of practice, you can start sliiiiiding around through the thirds, hands down the most gratifying feeling you can obtain in a scale-based exercise. Enjoy this one £;^)

Next chapter in this miniseries. This is where it starts to get real af, with 4:1 notes per hand ratios. This is a workout for anyone with a little patience, it doesn't require any special intelligence or piano skills even. Just gotta be brave. And the doors and possibilities that it opens are just so beautiful. Enjoy this exhilarating challenge

In this vid I show ya how to make people move - while looking chill af at the same time. This builds on those fundamental clave-based universal patterns from Pt. I, but with an extra layer of melodic independence with the right hand. I swear at some point, everything in music just becomes rhythms and intervals; frequencies chosen to ring together, and a moment in time when they sound together. Enjoy this one

Effortless! Make heads bop with just a flick of the wrist. How awesome is that? This vid breaks down something that starts as an exercise, and with practice, becomes a lifestyle

Another step towards giving each of those tow hands a mind and life of its own. In this episode we break down into smaller rhythmic subdivisions so that the two melodies start to become free from one another. That's always the goal. It takes practice. But the more you do, the more you become free £;^)

Universal rhythms are truly the key to making you dance. It's so simple and intuitive why these rhythms feel good, yet hard to explain exactly why this phenomenon works, and transcends all cultures of the world. I like to think there's something very beautiful and naturalistic about their imperfect symmetry, something that feels very human. What I know for sure is that they appear in all genres of music since the beginning of time, and that's enough evidence for me. In this vid I show some ay...

Going into my 6th month on Patreon. Thank you to all my supporters. I feel not only honored and privileged by this, but also purpose and responsibility to be my best and continue to give my best. This lifestyle I'm slowly finding out is the path that goes the furthest. It takes a lot of work, focus, sacrifice, discipline, selflessness. It's pretty hilarious to observe throughout a day how many times I have the inner dialogue where I try to override momentary desires and impulses by rationaliz...

This is a nice cyclic chord progression made out of just one buttery chord quality: That Maj7 tho! This is one of my favorite descending sequences that you can spiral infinitely and beautifully.
Get this progression down, and then see what other variations you can come up with £;^)

This marks the start of a fantastic new topic that we'll be goin deep into over the coming months.
For those of you whom are new to this word, counterpoint is the harmonious interaction of two or more melodies (or rhythms!). In other words, different things happening, at the same time!
The beauty of practicing counterpoint physically is, while playing two melodies at once seems kinda impossible with the brain, the human body can do it and much more quite easily. I strongly b...

Yes!! This slippery chord progression slides off the fingers like a sweat-drenched body. The tritone sub iimin11 bII7#11 Imaj9 is one of my absolute all-time favs, and in this vid I break down how to play it effortlessly on Push in its most tantalizing voicing. You can wrap this one up and take it to go if you can't finish it in one bite. Either way it's gonna get you high. Enjoy this one £;^)

Hey everyone! Just an update to my life right now: I got a new gig doing Ableton-type stuff for Nick Murphy's live show. As a result, I'm traveling A LOT these next coming months, Australia, US, Canada, you name it. Very exciting new challenge for me.
BUT! Not to worry. I'll keep all the material and vids coming as always. Just expect them to appear in strange bursts as opposed to consistently every week haha.
As for this month, I'll be dropping a bunch of vids starting next...
